An LPG bottling plant is planned to be built near a gas plant constructed in a remote area. In order to benefit the local community from similar sort of projects, it is decided to source the bottling plant to a local SME.

The SME should be a balance of not losing money but also should not be a large profit generator. The main issue, however, is that how to maximize and diversify beneficiaries of this project and at the same time making sure whoever SME gets this project, they are being able to execute it safely.

In EPC project in oil and gas industry after completion of most of design works and a design review meeting shall organized to evaluate the design against the requirement in order to ensure that the outcome and to identify if any issues before giving approval for construction team. In order to improve and evaluate the meetings a survey has been generated. A sample of 50 engineers participants feedback used as inputs in this study.

1. Problem Definition

The company has gone through bad experiences in performing some of the critical projects because of contractors. One of the main reasons behind these fails is the contractor. Either the contractors delay the work or go ahead of schedule there’s neither penalty nor advantages. Now the company is about to release a new project for a DSC system (software) for a new petrochemical plant. The DCS system (Distributed Control System) has to ready and running up once the plant is established and start. No delay is acceptable and an early finish is much much much preferred. Target is 180 days.

Continue talking about my construction building projects mentioned in W8, W9 and W10 blogs, this time I’m going to take a portfolio of projects (5 no# from my W2.1 blog ) and then rank order them by IRR and ERR . The projects in the portfolio which are not satisfying the hurdle rates (MARR)  should be killed off. Just like I mentioned in W2.1 blog the idea is to construct a Building of 12 apartments in one of the following locations in Salalah (two have been added)
